Costa Rica San Marcos Decaf Coffee comes from San Marcos de Tarrazú, a town in the Tarrazú highlands, south of San José, Costa Rica. Grown at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,900 meters, this coffee benefits from the region’s cool climate, volcanic soil, and slow cherry ripening. This single-origin coffee is carefully processed using the washed method, enhancing its clarity and refined flavor. It is then decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, a chemical-free method that removes 99+% of caffeine while preserving the coffee’s distinct origin characteristics. Sourced from smallholder farms in San Marcos de Tarrazú, the beans are dried using both patio and mechanical methods before being roasted, allowing the coffee’s natural complexity to shine.
